
Visitation for Luther Glynn “Butch” LeVasseur will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday, April 21 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, April 21 with the Rev. Clyde Miley officiating during the visitation. “Butch”, as he was known, 72, passed away April 19, 2017, in his hometown of Natchitoches. He was born Dec. 27, 1944. Butch was always willing to lend anyone a helping hand. He would drop anything he was doing to help someone in need. He had a deep love for anything fast and enjoyed racing in younger days. He loved motorcycles. To Butch, there was nothing he couldn’t do, nothing he couldn’t fix and nothing was faster than what he had. There was never a dull moment when you were around him. He always had a keen ability to put a smile on your face. He had a quick wit and was a great teacher and mentor. Butch was a loving father, grandfather, greatgrandfather and brother and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Lisa LeVasseur Dupree of Provencal, Julie LeVasseur Kilgore and husband Mark of Angola, and Lucas LeVasseur and wife Casey of Natchitoches; his grandchildren, Brent Dupree and wife Erin, Brady Dupree, Maggie Dupree, Cade Dubois, Cort Dubois, Cade Branton and Corinne LeVasseur; one greatgrandchild, Tate Dupree; his sisters, Karen LeVasseur Poche and husband Ronnie of Natchitoches and Barbara LeVasseur Thomas of Natchitoches; brother, Sidney Carroll LeVasseur of Arp, Texas; God-Child, Courtnie Poche St. Germain; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ludger Frank LeVasseur and Maggie Nobles LeVasseur; and three brothers, John Ludger “Sonny” LeVasseur, James Cleveland “Jackie” LeVasseur, and Joseph “Joe” Daniel LeVasseur.
