Funeral services for Albert “Boogie” Procell, 68, of Denham Springs will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel, Coushatta, with Father Ampatt officiating. Interment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 19 at the funeral home with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Boogie was born Feb. 19, 1949, to Albert and Edna Procell of Coushatta. A resident of Denham Springs, Boogie passed away after a long battle with diabetes April 15, 2017, at his home surrounded by his children and family. He made a living as a diesel mechanic, but truly enjoyed his years working as a Wildlife and Fisheries agent. He had a love for fishing, hunting, sports and in his younger years won many trophies shooting pool. Boogie never met a stranger and he made people laugh wherever he went. A special thank you to his grandson Jacob for his constant care and love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Edna Procell, and a brother, Joe “Junior” Procell. He leaves behind his two children, Melane Kay Granger and husband Ray of Sorrento and Jay Procell and wife Lacey of Denham Springs; eight grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan, Haley, Krystle, Cassandra, Travis, Reagan and Brady; five greatgrandchildren; the mother of his children, Willie Mae Bass; and brothers and sisters, Robert Earl, Wilbur, Roy, Charles, MaryAnne and Barbara Jean. Pallbearers will be Ray Granger, Joe Brignac, Roy Bass, Glenn Niette, Tim Bolt and Danny Blouin. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Procell and Jordan Guthrie. Psalms 18:28 You Lord keep my lamp burning – my God turns my darkness into light. To my children: I am home in heaven dear ones, oh so happy and bright. There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, ever restless tossing passed. I am now at peace forever, safely home in Heaven at last.
