
Riley Daniel DuFrene Sr., 76, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, April 10, 2017, at his home in Campti surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, April 14 at the Family Worship Center in Campti. Burial will followed at the Family Worship Center Cemetery. Riley worked for most of his life in construction and was well regarded for his knowledge and experience. He was a master of many trades and also loved hunting and fishing. One of his favorite hobbies was to collect and restore 1950s cars. Riley enjoyed life and he enjoyed staying busy working on whatever he could find to do around his home. He also played the guitar and could sing as well. He loved his family and was a great patriarch to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a great family legacy. Riley was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Jacqueline Feazell DuFrene, who passed away Nov. 24, 2016. Also preceding Riley in death were his parents, Sylvester and Edith DuFrene; and his siblings, Silas, Evelyn, Dorathy, Wilma, Bertile, Ruby, J.D., Willie, Manuel, and an infant. Riley is survived by two siblings, Earl Dufrene and Enola Dufrene. Riley leaves behind a large family that includes his children, Riley DuFrene Jr. and wife Doris, Dimple Bowers and husband Brent, Rhonda Edwards and husband Vincent, Silas Dufrene, and Jerry Dufrene and wife Laura. Riley also leaves 11 grandchildren, Brett Bowers and wife Heather, Joshua DuFrene and wife Sabre, Megan Colston and husband Jackie, Brittney Henneke and husband Jason, Paige Edge and husband Colin, Nick Edwards and wife Courtney, Justin DuFrene and wife Kaila, Tiffany DuFrene, Candace Montemayor and husband Jonathan, Chelsea May and husband Jarid, and Bethany Bowers. Riley also had 14 greatgrandchildren, Luke and Levi Bowers, Riley and Wyatt Dufrene, Gabrielle, Andrew and Grayson Edwards, Nate, Violette, Blake and Elizabeth Dufrene, Rosie Edge and baby Edge on the way, Stella Jade Colston, Alexander May and Baby Zeke May who is on the way.
