
Rosabella Monette Sarpy, 83, passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2015 with her family by her side. She was the oldest of eight children and was born Feb. 14, 1932 to the union of Clarence Monette Sr. and Rosalie Beaudoin Monette in Cloutierville. Over the course of her life she held many occupations, including teaching, manager of lunch room at North Natchitoches and being a seamstress for Caplan’s. The most important job to her was being a wife and mother to her family. She was a devout Catholic parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Natchitoches. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George Sarpy Sr.; her parents, Clarence Monette Sr. and Rosalie Beaudoin Monette; her siblings, Prudhomme Monette, Gloria Monette Rachal, Michael James Monette, and Clarence Monette Jr. She is survived by her son, George Sarpy Jr. of Natchez; granddaughter, Courtney Marie Sarpy of Natchez; siblings, Margie Monette LaCour of Cloutierville, Dottie Mae Conant of Lafayette and Iris Monette of Washington state; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A service to honor her life was Monday, Dec. 14 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Father Charlie Ray officiating. Graveside services followed at Memory Lawn Cemetery.
