
Funeral services for Marion Ross Friday, 59, of Chestnut were held Sunday, Dec. 6 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Olan McLaren officiating. Interment followed in Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. Friday was born Dec. 31, 1955 in Jonesboro and passed away Dec. 3, 2015 surrounded by his loved ones after a short battle with cancer. Ross was a loving husband and best friend to his wife Belinda for 39 years. He loved spending time with his family and cherished his grandchildren. He also was a hard worker, and known to many as “Easy Money” in the trucking community. He was preceded in death by his father, Ross Friday; and one sister, Ramona Gail Dunn. Friday is survived by his wife, Belinda Friday of Chestnut; one son, Gary Ross Friday and wife, Courtney of Marthaville; one daughter, Amanda Barnhart and husband, Nat of Cloutierville; mother, Dora Beth Weaver of Campti; two brothers, David Freeman of Castor, and William Freeman of Vivian; one sister, Ruby Pardee of Campti; six grandchildren: Justin Wade Barnhart, Austin Cecil Barnhart, Westin Ross Barnhart; Gabriella Danielle Friday, Bailey Rose Barnhart, and Izabella Charmaine Friday; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Peyton Freeman, Russell Smith, Trampas Shelton, Carson Friday, Eric Morvan, Harold Pardee, Darrell Pardee, and Sammy Greene. Honorary pallbearers were Jack McFarland, Charles Vascocu, Earl Morvan, “Pistol” Carney, and Ronald “Pep” Smith.
