Funeral services for Lucy Faye LaCour Hicks were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14 at the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Hicks officiating. Interment followed the services at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family received friends from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the services, at the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Lucy Hicks, 88, of Natchitoches, passed away Sept. 10, 2016, in Natchitoches. She was born Aug. 28, 1928 in Cloutierville. Mrs. Hicks spent most of her life as a homemaker. After her children were grown, she worked as an administrative assistant for a local attorney and at NSU. She was an avid bowler and participated in bowling leagues for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Andrew LaCour; her son, Dennis Hicks; her brother, Ray LaCour; and her husband, Carson Hicks. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Carol Hebert and Sherry Ballard; seven grandchildren, Jason Hebert, Andy Ballard, Larry Wayne Ballard, Kristen Ballard, Chris Hicks, Clay Hicks and Amie Edwards; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Courtyard of Natchitoches and Hospice of Natchitoches for their care.
