
Funeral services for Andrew ‘Andy’ Jenkins Jr. were Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Dr. John Foster officiating. Interment followed the service at Warren Cemetery in Fisher. The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12 at the funeral home. Mr. Andrew Jenkins Jr., 69, of Natchitoches, died Sept. 10, 2016, at his home in Natchitoches. He was born June 7, 1947 in Shreveport. He loved the sport of golf and fishing, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. Andy served his country by joining the U.S. Navy as a young man, which was a fact that he was very proud of. He was also a member of the Ajax Masonic Grand Lodge #325 and Phoenix Lodge #38. He took great pride in the gardens that he raised, as well as his woodworking projects. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Isgitt Jenkins of Natchitoches; his children, Andrew J. Jenkins III of Alexandria, Angela R. Jenkins of Robeline and Allison Jenkins of Georgia; four grandchildren, Lane Durr, Caleb Laird, Emma Jenkins and Nicholes Palmer; his mother, Vera Moore of Natchitoches; his sisters, Judy Lilly of Marthaville and Carolyn McCarthy of Spring, Texas, Sandra Vinz of Bossier City and Bobbie Jenkins of Tyler, Texas; his brother, Jack Jenkins of Natchitoches; close family friend, Janet Palmer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, A.J. Jenkins Sr.; his brothers, Albert Jenkins, Jim Jenkins and Dewell Jenkins; and his sister, Dora Baker. Those honored to be pallbearers were Ted Singletary, J.W. Johnson, Lee Comer, Fernando Montelongo, Donny Wyatt and Jeed Chadprachong. Members of Ajax Masonic Grand Lodge #325 served as honorary pallbearers.
