Funeral services for George Warren Woodel, 84, of Clarence, were Friday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Cecil Boswell and the Rev. Jim Freeman officiating. Burial followed in the Central Baptist Cemetery, Robeline.Visitation was Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many. George Warren Woodel was born Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1932 in Robeline. He passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016 at his residence in Clarence. He was preceded in death by his mother, Truly Woodel; father, Leroy Woodel; brother, Roy Woodel; wife, Dessie Simmons Woodel; and son, Van Woodel. He is survived by his wife, Millie Woodel of Clarence; daughter Peggy Sanderson and husband Randy of Robeline; step-daughter, Patty Chandler and husband Donnie of Winnfield; step daughter Brenda Arnold and husband Bruce of Benton; step-son, Chris Gallien and wife Susan of Youngsville; sisters Betty Sprague of New Jersey, Trudie Lawson, Norma James and Ann Booker, all of Shreveport; six grandchildren, six step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, one great grandson; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Justin Chandler, Jefferey Arnold, Darren Davis, Tim Ratcliff, Guy Dodson, Michael Lawson, Cody Ingles, and Rick Lawson. Honorary Pallbearers: Rev. Glen Flinnegan, Charles Clarey and Louis Bernard.
