Robert Thomas “Bobby” Smith, 74 of Natchitoches, died at his home April 2, 2016. Smith graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1959. He graduated from Northwestern State College, May 1963, with a bachelor of music education degree. He taught music in the Terrebonne Parish School System for over 30 years. After retiring, he returned to Natchitoches to make his home. He is survived by one nephew, Joe Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Stanislaus Smith and Lela Audrey Thomas Smith; stepmother, Loula Agnes Calhoun Smith and one brother, Joe Bargas (Dutch) Smith. A memorial service celebrating the life of Smith was held April 12 at the Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma.
