Homegoing service to celebrate the life of Kerry Martchell Gay will be Saturday, Nov. 14 in Stockbridge, Ga. This loving son, brother and father was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Gay Sr. on Sept. 1, 1964 in Natchitoches. Kerry was called home to be with our Lord on Oct. 31, 2015 while in hospice care after battling a lengthy illness. He was lovingly reunited with his parents Mervin Sr. and Dora Gay and his sister Jo Ann (Gay) Vega. Kerry leaves to mourn, his wonderful daughter Keesha and former wife Paulette, of Lithonia, Ga., his brothers Mervin Gay Jr. and Darrell Gay of Natchitoches; his brother Dylan Gay of Conyers, Ga., his sisters Lena Fisher of Rowland Heights, Calif.; Barbara Pegross of Port Arthur, Texas; Patsy Gay of Natchitoches and Karen Thomas and Shansi Grapham of Shreveport; host of loving nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Kerry was a graduate of Natchitoches Central High School class of 1982; a member of JROTC and later joined and served in the US Armed Forces. Most importantly, he was a member of the St. Luke Baptist Church of Natchitoches where he sang in the choir. Yea thou I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. “Be at rest dear father and brother. You will be terribly missed”
